Three Members Named to NEC All-Conference Team, Quackenbush Earns Rookie Honors

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis women's cross country team members Tesslyn Helms (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic), Anna Quackenbush (Mount Airy, Md./Linganore), and Morgan McNaughton (Summerville, Pa./Clarion-Limestone) earned Northeast Conference (NEC) awards for their performances at the NEC Championships, the conference announced Tuesday.

Helms, Quackenbush, and McNaughton were each awarded an NEC All-Conference team selection for finishing in the top-14 during the women's 5K race.

Helms received her first All-Conference selection with a second place finish, clocking in at a time of 18:35.6. Her performance was the best finish by a Red Flash women's runner since 2018.

Quackenbush became the first freshman to be named to the All-Conference team since 2015. She also achieved NEC Rookie of the Year as the best freshman of the women's race and an NEC All-Rookie team selection as a top-seven freshman. She placed seventh with a time of 19:03.2, her third top-10 finish of the season. She placed ninth at the Father Bede Invitational and the Aubrey Shenk Invitational.

McNaughton had her best finish of the season, taking 13th with a time of 19:17.3. It is the first All-Conference selection of her career.

The indoor track and field teams will begin the 2023-24 season at the Bison Opener on Saturday, December 2.
