TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
NJIT started the game on an 11-2 run across the first two minutes before Saint Francis cut the deficit to 11-8 at the five-minute mark. The Highlanders narrowly increased its lead to six points, 18-12, at the end of the first quarter. In the second, NJIT outscored Saint Francis 11-4 and opened a 29-16 lead at the half.
In the third, NJIT outscored Saint Francis 23-11 to open a 52-27 lead. The Highlanders outscored the Red Flash 16-14 in the fourth quarter to clinch its 27-point victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
Ward's 13 rebounds set a new career-high, with her previous mark 12 on Feb. 4, 2023 against Merrimack. It was also a single-game high by a Red Flash player this season, which was previously 10 by
Julianna Gibson.
Boyd's 11 points marked her fifth double-digit scoring effort of the season, which is tied with
Kendall Carruthers for the team lead.
Brigid Scanlon scored her first collegiate field goal with 2:02 remaining in the game.
