Women’s Basketball Drops Road Matchup at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.  – Saint Francis University women's basketball dropped its Saturday afternoon matchup at Merrimack, 80-62.
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
» Aaliyah Moore had a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double and was 7-of-14 shooting.
» Semaya Turner scored a game-high 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting. 
» Destini Ward scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
» Merrimack's Jayme DeCesare scored a game-high 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting and had six three-pointers.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Merrimack and Saint Francis traded scores for the first seven minutes of the game before the Warriors took a 17-13 lead after one quarter. Merrimack produced a 12-6 advantage in the second quarter and took a 29-19 lead into halftime.
 
In the third quarter, Saint Francis stayed within 11 points, 42-31, with 5:51 remaining before Merrimack went on an 18-9 run to end the quarter and took a 60-40 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Warriors led by as many as 27 points before sealing its victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Moore recorded the fifth double-double of her career and her 15 rebounds tied the second-highest total of the season.
 
Turner tied her career-high in points, previously set against Stonehill three games prior to this one. She has four double-digit scoring games this season, all in the last nine games.
 
Ward has at least 12 points in back-to-back games and four games with at least 12 points this season.
