TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
With the Red Flash up 2-1, the fourth set was the final turning point of the game. Saint Francis continued its strong momentum from set three into set four by starting the fourth set off with a 3-0 run to never allow NJIT to lead in the final set. A kill from Liprando gave the Red Flash the fourth and final set, 25-15.
FLASH MOMENTS
The first set was a very close battle between the Highlanders and Red Flash featuring 13 tied scores and only two lead changes. However, NJIT was able to come away with the close set by a two-point difference at 30-28. Despite losing the first set, the Red Flash had three service aces in the first set alone.
The second set was more of the same with both teams going back-and-forth. However, the Red Flash maintained control later on to gain a strong advantage over the Highlanders. Saint Francis earned set two, 25-20.
The Red Flash controlled most of the third set to lead by as much as 11 over NJIT. A final kill from Liprando gave the Red Flash set three, 25-14 for its biggest lead of the game.
FLASH NUGGETS
As a team, the Red Flash notched six service aces, 47 kills and 18 blocks on Thursday night.
