Softball Hosts Wagner for Second Home Series

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University softball is set to host Wagner in its second home series of the season April 1-2. The weekend will mark Saint Francis' sexual assault awareness games and fans can join the team in support by wearing teal.

» Jordan Pietrzykoski earned her first Northeast Conference Player of the Week honor and leads the Red Flash with a .319 batting average, five runs scored and two triples. She is riding a current seven-game hitting streak – tied for the longest of the season by a Red Flash player.
» Madelyn Wilson is tied with Pietrzykoski with a seven-game hitting streak and she is off her first NEC Co-Rookie of the Week honor. She is third on the team with a .279 batting average and .362 on-base percentage, which both lead the freshmen class.
» Rachel Marsden earned her first NEC Pitcher of the Week honor and leads the Red Flash with a 2.50 ERA. She has 87 strikeouts and a .235 batting average against in 72.2 innings pitched. She also paces Saint Francis at the plate with four home runs and 16 RBIs.
» Grace Vesco became the second pitcher in program history with 500-career strikeouts and stands at 506. She leads Saint Francis with 105 strikeouts, eight wins, 12 complete games and a .175 batting average against in 94.1 innings pitched.

Last Time Out
Saint Francis took a 2-1 series win over LIU after a doubleheader sweep in the first day and 1-0 loss to end the series. In the doubleheader sweep, Saint Francis won 4-1 before a 9-1 five-inning run-rule victory. During the sweep, Olivia Ulam drove in five runs, while Marsden and Vesco combined for nine hits allowed in the 12 innings played. In the third game, Vesco and LIU pitcher Lindsey Cowans combined for six hits against in the one-run game.
 
Scouting Wagner
The Seahawks enter the series with a 3-3 conference record and 5-15 overall. Wagner began conference play getting swept by Central Connecticut and followed with a sweep of Stonehill. Wagner has scored more than three runs three times in 20 games and has 10 games with one or fewer runs. Bianca Worthy leads qualified players with a .288 batting average, seven runs scored and four doubles. Mackenzie Vogler leads the team with one home run and five RBIs. The pitching staff is led by Eve Harvey's 3.35 ERA, four wins, 10 complete games and 48 strikeouts in 85.2 innings pitched.
 
All-Time vs. Wagner
Saint Francis holds a 38-25 all-time advantage over Wagner and is on a current 19-game winning streak over the Seahawks. During the streak, Saint Francis has nine run-rule and shutout victories. The last Wagner victory was on April 12, 2014. Saint Francis is also on a 14-game home winning streak, with the last Wagner win in Loretto, Pa. on April 25, 2009.
 
Around the NEC
Saint Francis and Central Connecticut are tied atop the NEC standings with a 5-1 conference record, followed by LIU's 4-2 mark. Fairleigh Dickinson and Merrimack carry a 4-4 record, followed by Wagner at 3-3, Sacred Heart at 1-5 and Stonehill at 0-6. Merrimack and Fairleigh Dickinson are set to conclude their series on Saturday, while Sacred Heart and Stonehill begin theirs Saturday. Central Connecticut visits LIU and Saint Francis hosts Wagner to round out NEC action.
