Men’s and Women’s Tennis Seasons End in NEC Championships Quarterfinals

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Saint Francis University women's tennis fell 4-2 to St. Francis Brooklyn and men's tennis lost 4-0 to Fairleigh Dickinson in the Northeast Conference Championships Quarterfinals.
 
Women's: No. 4 Saint Francis 2, No. 5 St. Francis Brooklyn 4
 
Doubles
St. Francis Brooklyn took two of the three doubles matches to earn the point. Bente Vandeputte and Kelly Dowuona took the No. 1 doubles match 6-4 before St. Francis Brooklyn won the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.
 
Singles
St. Francis Brooklyn took three of the five completed singles matches to earn the victory. Vandeputte took the No. 1 match 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 and Dominique Yeo won the No. 2 match 6-1, 5-7, 6-1. Nagisa Miyake lost the No. 5 singles match 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 0-6 and Samantha Quezada lost in No. 6 match 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 1-6).
 
Men's: No. 7 Saint Francis 0, No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson 4
 
Doubles
Fairleigh Dickinson took both finished doubles matches, while the No. 2 match was unfinished after the Knights already clinched the point. Adam Kush and Gregory Troyan lost in the No. 1 match 4-6 and Matt Kozar and Zachary Palko lost in the No. 3 match 2-6. Christian Banti and Patrick Reese were leading the No. 2 match 5-3 before it was unfinished.
 
Singles
Fairleigh Dickinson took the three matches to open singles and clinch its 4-0 victory. Kush lost in the No. 1 match 1-6, 2-6, Banti lost 1-6, 2-6 in the No. 2 match and Troyan dropped the No. 3 match 5-7, 3-6. Kozar in the No. 5 match and Reese in the No. 6 match were headed to a third set before the match concluded.
