>> Mary Kate Norcross (Chambersburg, Pa.) sits in 27th place after the first round of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Golf Championships on Sunday.
>> Norcross posted a round of 83 after registering seven pars on the first nine holes and two pars on the back nine. The senior is 11 strokes behind the current leader.
>> McKenzie Gustas (Hermitage, Pa.) registered the lone birdie on the afternoon bon hole No. 15.
>> The Red Flash sit in ninth place after one round of the conference championships.

FLASH MOMENTS
Anna Crumrine (Newark, Ohio) (36th place, 87), Rachel Detore (Spotsylvania, Pa.) (37th place, 88), Meghan Zambruno (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) (37th place, 88) and Gustas (39th place, 89) rounded out the Saint Francis five golfers.
 
Crumrine and Zambruno each registered eight pars in the first round, while Detore carded seven pars and Gustas had six pars along with her birdie.
 
Norcross is competing in her third NEC Championship, Detore and Crumrine are in their second
conference tournament while Gustas and Zambruno are competing in their first league championships.
 
Sacred Heart leads the three-round event with a score of 303, seven strokes ahead of Merrimack (310), while Howard (312), Delaware State (313), FDU (314), LIU (325), North Carolina Central (342), Wagner (345), the Red Flash (346), Stonehill (367) and UMES (386) rounded out the 11-team field.

Saint Francis returns to action in the second round of the NEC Championships on Monday. Gustas will hit the links first at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by Zambruno (7:40 a.m.), Detore (7:50 a.m.), Crumrine (8:00 a.m.) and Norcross (8:10 a.m.).
