Meghan Zambruno (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) finished in 31st place to pace the Saint Francis women's golf team at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Golf Championships on Tuesday.
>> The Red Flash moved up two spots and finished seventh for the second-straight campaign.
>> Zambruno posted rounds of 88, 76 and 83 to finish with a three-round total of 247. Her second-round score of 76 was a team-best in the three rounds.
>> The freshman carded birdies on No. 2 and 3 and added six pars in the final round to finish the championships with four birdies and 17 pars in the 54-hole event.

Rachel Detore (Spotsylvania, Pa.) shot the best round of the day with a 79.

Mary Kate Norcross (Chambersburg, Pa.) (34th place, 83-87-80=250),
McKenzie Gustas (Hermitage, Pa.) (35th place, 89-82-80=251), Detore (39th place, 88-86-79=253) and
Anna Crumrine (Newark, Ohio) (35th place, 87-83-84=254) rounded out the Saint Francis five golfers.
Norcross and Gustas each shot the second-best round of the day with a score of 80. Norcross registered a birdie on No. 3 along with 10 pars on her way to her round of 80, while Gustas had a birdie on No. 2 and 10 pars to post her best round of 80. Norcross finished her third NEC Championships with a birdie and 26 pars, while Gustas ended her first conference championships with three birdies and 27 pars. Detore posted 11 pars in the final round to notch her best round with a 79 and recorded a birdie and 24 pars in her second conference tournament. Crumrine carded a birdie and eight pars on Tuesday and wrapped up her second NEC Championships with a birdie and 22 pars.
Sacred Heart won the NEC Women's Golf Championships with a three-round score of 895, 10 strokes ahead of Delaware State (905), while Howard (907), FDU (927), Merrimack (945), LIU (949), the Red Flash (995), Wagner (1000), North Carolina Central (1015), Stonehill (1051) and UMES (1112) rounded out the 11-team field. The Loretto team improved each round in the tournament, posting a 346 in the first round, a 327 in the second round and a 322 in the final round to card a 995 in the three rounds to move up to seventh place from ninth.
Saint Francis finished seventh for the second-straight season with the identical score of 995.
