The Red Flash played with intensity right out of the gate. Two goals in the first eight minutes set the tone for the afternoon.Â
The second half was more of the same, with Saint Francis adding three goals in an impressive scoring display.
FLASH MOMENTS
In one of the few dangerous scoring chances the Red Flash faced, McConnon made a great diving save to clear the danger.Â
Persichetty headed in a goal in the sixth minute had Saint Francis off and running. The goal was set up by an excellent corner by Pyle. Korpics would smash a goal home just two minutes later to double the lead. Â
Although they would not score again in the first half, the Red Flash dominated the game.
Miko put one in the back of the net in the 51st minute for her first goal of the season.Â
Pyle, Dziesiaty, Mercedez Paino (Langhorne, Pa.), Colletta Ozbey (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Noa Dorah (Takoma Park, Md.), Sophia Filipowski (Hockessin, Del.) and Caterina Schiavo (Sicklerville, N.J.) all had quality scoring chances that were either saved or were just off target.Â
Korpics and Dorah led the Red Flash with four shots each.
Persichetty added another goal in the 73rd minute. Flores scored eight minutes later, marking her first career goal.Â
Marshall made a jumping save to punch a dangerous Hornet shot over the crossbar in the 79th minute.Â
Casey Breier (McMurray, Pa.) made her collegiate debut in the contest, coming on in the 81st minute.Â
FLASH NUGGETS
With three goals so far this season, Persichetty has set a career-high for goals in a season, and doubled her career total of three entering this season.Â
Saint Francis generated a season-high 11 corner kicks on the afternoon. Â
The 23 Red Flash shots today mark the team's highest total for a game since Oct. 31, 2021. They had 18 in a loss to Mount St. Mary's in that game.Â
