Despite starting the third set behind the Sharks, the Red Flash were determined to make the comeback. Burns sailed the ball past the LIU defenders and knocked another off the Sharks defense to tie the third set at 23 apiece. With the match on the line, the Red Flash could not come out on top, with the Sharks scoring on a service error and a kill getting past Saint Francis.

Skye Eicher (Rostraver Township, Pa.) tied the set at 15 apiece.
Alexandra Sappia (West Palm Beach, Fla.) scored back-to-back service aces, energizing the home crowd.
Down 5-9 in the third set, a team effort kept the Red Flash in the set. In a four-point run to tie the score at 9 each, Allison Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Kori McClure (Westerville, Ohio), Eicher and Burns each tallied a kill.

Defensively, Aubrey Deptula led the team in blocks with one solo and three assisted blocks.
Burns earned a double-double in the match, tallying 12 kills and 10 digs. Eicher and Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa.) also recorded 10 digs each.
