Women’s Basketball Drop Matchup at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Saint Francis University women's basketball dropped its final game of a road trip to Massachusetts 71-48 at Merrimack.

» Destini Ward scored a team-high 14 points and added two blocks.
» Kendall Carruthers and Yanessa Boyd each scored eight points with three converted field goals.
» Harris Robinson grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Saint Francis opened a 10-5 lead at 6:28 of the first quarter before Merrimack ended on an 11-3 run and led 16-13. Saint Francis stayed within three points, 24-21, midway through the second quarter before Merrimack put together a 17-7 run and took a 41-28 lead into halftime.
 
Merrimack followed its first-half performance with a 17-6 advantage in the third quarter and led 58-36 at the end of the frame. The Warriors took a 13-12 advantage in the fourth quarter to earn its 23-point victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Ward had at least 14 points in seven of the last eight games. She set a career high with her two blocks after she recorded one in 11 different games.
 
Robinson led Saint Francis in rebounds for the third time this season and first time in conference play.
 
Marina Artero had a career-high two blocks after she recorded one block five times this season.
 
Kameryn Dorsey's seven points were her second-highest in the last nine games.
