Women’s Basketball Drops Home Matchup to Sacred Heart

LORETTO, Pa.  – Saint Francis University women's basketball fell in its second conference game of the season 86-47 to Sacred Heart on Monday night.

» Destini Ward had a team-high 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
» Kendall Carruthers scored 15 points with a career-high seven rebounds.
» Sacred Heart's Ny'Ceara Pryor had a game-high 19 points and nine assists.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Saint Francis and Sacred Heart were tied at four with 5:25 remaining in the first quarter before the Pioneers ended the quarter on a 14-4 run and led 18-8. The Pioneers continued their run with a 16-6 advantage in the second quarter and led 34-14 at the half.
 
In the third quarter, Sacred Heart expanded its lead to 64-32 at the end of the frame behind a 30-18 advantage. In the fourth quarter, the Pioneers led by as many as 42 points before clinching its 39-point victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Ward fell one point shy of tying her career high of 19 that she set last game against Wagner. She has five games with at least 14 points this season.
 
Carruthers' 15 points were her most since Dec. 2 – a six-game span. Her rebounds broke a previous career-high of six that she set three times.
