Men's Soccer Falls To Mercyhurst

ERIE, Pa. - Saint Francis men's soccer suffered their first conference defeat in over two years on Thursday evening with a 3-0 loss to Mercyhurst on the road. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

>> Joschi Schelb led the Red Flash with three shots on the night. 

>> Saint Francis registered five shots against the Lakers. 

>> Niclas Becker made a pair of saves in the match. 
 

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The Lakers found the match's opener with a goal in the 17th minute. They would score two more goals in the second half to achieve their 3-0 win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Flash had the momentum in the opening 15 minutes the match. Schelb fired two shots on target but both were saved. 

After the Mercyhurst goal, the Red Flash would push to respond quickly. Fabian Wagner had a go at goal but his shot was saved. 

Becker made a couple of saves before halftime to keep the deficit at one heading into the intermission. 

The Red Flash could not get much going in the second half, only registering two shots in the period, both of which came in the final three minutes of the match. 


FLASH NUGGETS
Schelb's .667 shots on goal percentage marks the third time this season he's gotten at least 60 percent of his shots in a match on target.
