LORETTO, Pa. - Saint Francis women's soccer fell 1-0 to FDU on Thursday afternoon.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
FDU were off and running early with a seventh minute goal on long shot that was just out of Sawich's reach.
"The second half was as good of a half as we have played in a few games." Diaz said. "We made a few adjustments tactically and our team did a good job of executing it."
HOW IT HAPPENED
FDU had a majority of possession in the opening 20 minutes, finding the opener just seven minutes in.
The Red Flash would continue to fend off the FDU attack for much of the opening period.
Sawich made three saves in the opening half to keep the deficit at one.
Coming out of the half,
Joy Zeeman made a goal-saving tackle deep inside the Saint Francis box and prevented the Knights from doubling their lead.
The Red Flash showed a sense of urgency in the opening 20 minutes of the second half with a number of chances but could not find the equalizer from any of them. Saint Francis had three corner kicks in a five minute span. Pyle had a couple of tries at goal but could not convert any of them.
Riley Cerqua made an excellent slide tackle inside the Saint Francis box to keep the score where it was in the 70th minute.
In the 84th minute, Pyle fired a bullet of a shot on a free kick that nearly slipped past the goalkeeper, but the shot was saved in the end.
FDU would see out the remaining time on the clock to secure their win.
"We felt a bit unlucky not to get rewarded with a goal." Diaz said. "It was a really good performance from our team and something we can build upon moving forward.".
FLASH NUGGETS
Pyle's three shots and three shots on goal makes it back to back games in which every shot she took was on target.
Sawich has now saved at least 75 percent of shots on target in nine of the 13 matches this season.
