TURNING POINT
The third and final set came down to the wire. After an error by Saint Francis leveled the set at 23 apiece,
Kori McClure got the ball over the Mercyhurst block to earn match point. Beating the block, Hogan notched the match-winning kill.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis took a commanding, early lead in the opening set. At 22-11,
Laney Wilson attacked the ball hard, stretching the Red Flash lead. After an error by Mercyhurst earned set point for Saint Francis, the Lakers tallied a kill, but another kill by Wilson locked up the win.
The Lakers were unrelenting in the second set, but a three-point run gave the Red Flash the two-set lead. Trailing 24-23, an error by Mercyhurst gave Saint Francis the side out and tied the set. After a kill by Hogan, Korrin Burn's serve hit a Mercyhurst player and sailed outside, winning the set 26-24.
FLASH NUGGETS
Alexandra Sappia led the Red Flash with 33 assists.
