Robert Morris started the scoring on a one-yard rushing touchdown in a fourth-and-goal situation and opened a 7-0 lead just over two minutes remaining in the first. The Colonials added to the lead with a 43-yard on their next drive to open a 10-0 lead.

Both teams began the second half with five empty possessions before Robert Morris added its second touchdown on a one-yard run to open a 17-0 lead with 16 seconds remaining in the third. After a scoreless fourth quarter, Robert Morris clinched its shutout victory.
