After winning back-to-back sets to force a fifth set, the Red Flash were down 12-7.
Laney Wilson notched back-to-back kills before tallying a block with
Kori McClure to narrow the Sharks' lead to 12-10. A kill by LIU earned the side out, with errors by Saint Francis wrapping up the match.
FLASH MOMENTS
Trailing two sets and down 24-21 in the third, Saint Francis mounted an impressive comeback to win the set. Hogan began the scoring with a kill and a service ace. A block by McClure and Wilson tied the match.
Korrin Burns tallied the lead-taking kills before an error re-tied the set. Errors by LIU gave Saint Francis the lead and the win.
The Sharks tied the fourth set at 19 apiece, but the Red Flash came out on top to force the fifth set. Hogan tallied back-to-back kills with
Alexandra Sappia earning one of her own. After a kill by LIU, errors by the Sharks gave Saint Francis set point. An error by Saint Francis gave LIU the side out, but Hogan tied the match at two sets apiece.
FLASH NUGGETS
Sappia notched 30 assists to lead the Red Flash. She also led in aces with five.
McClure led Saint Francis with four assisted blocks.
Burns tallied 19 digs.
