LIU was up 21-19 in the fourth set, but a six-point run by Saint Francis solidified the win.
Drew Wallech began the scoring with
Kori McClure tying the match. An error by the Sharks kept the momentum with Saint Francis. Burns evaded the LIU defense, pushing the team toward match point. Another error by LIU earned Saint Francis match point before a kill by Wallech put away the game.
FLASH MOMENTS
Up 22-20 in the opening set, a three-point run by Saint Francis locked up the first set.
Laney Wilson notched a kill from the middle. Burns tallied a kill of her own for set point, with
Raegan Rosi earning an ace for the set advantage.
The Red Flash had a dominant 24-19 lead in the second set. LIU attempted a comeback, but Burns got past the Sharks' defense to take a two-set lead.
FLASH NUGGETS
Alexandra Sappia boasted 48 assists and 14 digs to lead Saint Francis.
McClure and Rosi each recorded two service aces.
Sappia and Wilson tallied an assisted block each.
