FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Tuesday's game between Saint Francis and Penn State marks the 14th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1949-50 season.
• The two meet in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. It will be the third meeting between the Red Flash, the Nittany Lions, and head coach Rob Krimmel, who grew up in State College. The first time Krimmel faced his hometown team was his first game as the Frankies' head coach in 2012-13.
• It will be a seventh game between the two teams at the Bryce Jordan Center, with the Red Flash looking for its first win in the arena.
• The last win for Saint Francis in the series was at Rec Hall with a 68-63 overtime win in 1978-79. It was also the only win for the Frankies in State College.
• Krimmel is 1-5 against the Big 10. The Red Flash defeated Rutgers 73-68 on December 20, 2014, for its only win against the Big 10.  Along with the win against the Scarlett Knights, his team played Penn State, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio State.
• It will be the 27th time Krimmel has faced a Power 5 opponent, with wins against Pittsburgh and Rutgers on his resume. This tilt is the second game against a Power 5 opponent after falling 88-62 at Clemson on Friday. This season, the squad will also travel to Georgetown (November 23) and Maryland (December 17).
• It is the first time the Red Flash has played four Power 5 teams in the same season. In 2022-23 (Butler, No. 25 Ohio State, No. 25 Miami) and 2018-19 (No. 20 UCLA, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 13 Virginia Tech), the Frankies played three Power 5 squads. The 2022-23 games were over a month, while the gauntlet of games in 2018-19 was in nine days.
• The Frankies will play three branches of the Penn State campus. Along with playing the Nittany Lions, the Red Flash will host Division III Penn State Schuylkill for the home opener on November 20 and Penn State Shenango on December 4.
• Saint Francis is amid a five-game road trip to start the season, tying the program record for most extended road trip to start a campaign. The 1964-65 team also started the year with five away from Loretto.
• The Red Flash ends the five-game road trip at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.

FOLLOWING IN FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS HIS WAY
• Saint Francis head coach Rob Krimmel grew up in State College before coming to Saint Francis.
• It is only the third time that the Red Flash will face Penn State in Krimmel's 13 years as a head coach and the first time was his head coaching debut in 2012-13 before last year's tilt.
• Krimmel's father, Bob, was a 1973 graduate of Penn State and spent 36 years as a student-athlete, swimming assistant/head coach, and assistant athletic director before coming to Saint Francis as the athletics director for 11 years and retiring in 2006.
•  Rob Krimmel followed a similar path to his father, but at Saint Francis. He is entering his 29th year associated with Saint Francis as a student-athlete, assistant coach, or head coach.
• The connection between father and son continues as both men meet their wives while in college, with Bob meeting Rob's mother at Penn State and Rob meeting his wife, Aileen, at Saint Francis.

AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the squad's second win against a Big Ten team under head coach Rob Krimmel
• Be Krimmel's first win against his hometown team
• Be the team's second win of the season
• Record back-to-back wins for the first time since defeating Lehigh (November 30) and American (December 2) in consecutive games last season.
