FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Wednesday's game between Saint Francis and Penn State Schuylkill marks the first meeting between the two teams.
• "My school was tough at the homecoming game after they sacked the quarterback; they went after his family!" - Rodney Dangerfield. Penn State Schuylkill is the second of three Penn State branches on the Red Flash 2024-25 schedule. The Red Flash fell to the main campus, Nittany Lions, on November 12 and will host Penn State Shenango on December 4.
• This will be the first of three games against NCAA Division III opponents this season. Along with the two branches of Penn State coming to town, the Red Flash will host Franciscan in its annual game on December 19.
• This game marks the 14th time Saint Francis has played a non-Division I opponent under head coach Rob Krimmel, and the ninth different school to come to Loretto to play the Red Flash.
• Saint Francis is 13-0 in these contests, averaging 103.7 points per game. The Red Flash is allowing 63.0 points per game in these contests. The Frankies have scored over 100 points in nine of the 13 games and have not given up more than 77 points against an NCAA Division III team under Krimmel.
• This will be the seventh time Saint Francis will play a Division III team from the state of Pennsylvania. Except the annual battle with Franciscan and a game against Bethany, all of these tilts have been against a team from the Keystone State.
• Saint Francis makes its DeGol Arena debut and is 31-8 in the home opener after starting on the road dating back to the 1950-51 season. The Red Flash is 32-3 in the season opener, having been at home for a combined 63-11 in the first game of the season in Loretto.
• Krimmel's Flash has won nine of the last 10 home openers. The one loss was in the COVID-19-shortened season against UMBC on November 28, 2020. The squad is 9-3 in the first game at DeGol Arena under the coach. Saint Francis played its first game in Cambria County at the War Memorial against the Navy and won 60-57 on November 11, 2013, but then lost its first game in Loretto to America 19 days later.
• Saint Francis returns to the road and completes the Hoyas MTE on Saturday at Georgetown. The MTE started at Mount St. Mary's on November 16, and the Mount will play at Georgetown on Wednesday.
• It is the first time the Frankies will play Georgetown since 1995-96, the year before Krimmel came to Saint Francis as a freshman and never left. The other interesting tidbit about this matchup is that the Hoyas are 9-0 in the nation's capital against Saint Francis, but the Red Flash are 4-0 against Georgetown in Loretto.

AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the fourth-straight win in the home opener and 10th in the last 11 years
• Improve to 14-0 under head coach Rob Krimmel against a non-Division I team
• Improve to 3-0 on November 20 in home openers under Krimmel
• Improve the Red Flash record to 1-1 against Penn State teams
• Give the Red Flash its first win above the Mason-Dixon line
• Be Krimmel's 95th win at DeGol Arena in his career

ABOUT THE NITTANY LIONS

• Penn State Schuylkill, who plays at Penn State Scranton in a conference game on Tuesday, comes into the week 1-3 after falling 104-73 at Kutztown on Saturday. The game against Saint Francis is considered an exhibition for the Nittany Lions but counts for the Red Flash.
• Makhi Jones and Devin Adams paced the squad against Kutztown with 16 points, while Isaac Lane (15 points) and Antwaun Bryd (10 points) also posted double figures.
• Jones (19.3 ppg.), Lane (17.0 ppg.), and Byrd (10.3 ppg.) are all averaging double figures in points. Lane and Dashawn Dixon sit atop the team lead in rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME OUT
• Saint Francis lost 66-58 at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday at Knott Arena.
• Sophomore Bobby Rosenberger III paced Saint Francis for the second-straight game with 14 points and five rebounds. The sophomore posted those identical numbers against Penn State on November 12.
• Junior Valentino Pinedo added eight points and eight rebounds.

TRENDING UP
•
Junior Valentino Pinedo is averaging 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his last four games after posting two points and two rebounds in his Red Flash debut at Dayton on November 4. The junior is stuffing the stat sheet in this stretch by adding six steals, five assists, and three blocks. He had a career-high three steals in the first half against Mount St. Mary's on November 16.
• In this four-game stretch, the junior transfer from East Carolina sank the decisive free throw against Campbell with 1.9 seconds left of a 65-64 win on November 10, and he then became the third player under head coach Rob Krimmel to register a double-double against a Power 5 team with 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
• Sophomore Bobby Rosenberger III has been Mr. Consistent for the Frankies. He posted precisely 10 points in his first three games and then had 14 points and five rebounds in the last two tilts he played. The sophomore is the only player this season to reach double figures in all five games and also has hauled in at least five boards in three of the five games.
• After averaging 17.5 points per game in the two games in the Carolinas, sophomore Ace Talbert has scored eight points in each of his last two games. The sophomore has also dished out seven assists in his previous three tilts after leading the team with 64 assists in his freshman campaign.
• Sophomore Damar Kelly is averaging 8.7 points per game in his last three contests thanks to a pair of eight-point games and a career-high 10 points, all in the first half, against Penn State. The junior is also 6-for-6 at the free throw line in this stretch after missing two free throws at Clemson on November 8. Counting to his time at Quinnipiac, he has posted eight or more points in four of his last seven regular season games.
• Freshman Jeremy Clayville has posted nine points or more in every game he has scored at point, including a career-high 14 points in the season-opener at Dayton on November 4. The freshman was held scoreless against Campbell. Clayville leads the team with nine steals and seven thefts in his last three games.

ON THIS DATE
• Saint Francis is 4-2 on this date and will mark the seventh contest on this date played at DeGol Arena.
• The Red Flash defeated Bucknell 68-67 on this date in 2010. Anthony Ervin gave the Frankies the lead for good on two free throws with 3:31 left in the game. Will Felder paced Saint Francis with 21 points and nine rebounds. Erwin and Mislav Jukic each had 10 points in the team's second win of the season.
FUN FACT: This will be the third time the Red Flash will play a non-Division I on this date and  previous two times also was the home opener for Saint Francis.
