TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
NJIT scored the first nine points before Saint Francis responded with six points, which included the first three-pointer of the season by Shelton. The Highlanders then pulled out to a nine-point lead, 13-6, just over midway through the first quarter. Saint Francis responded with a 6-0 run before NJIT pulled back ahead by five points, 18-13, at the end of the first quarter.
With NJIT staked to a 30-26 lead with 5:31 remaining in the half, the Highlanders ended the half on a 19-4 run and for a 49-30 lead. NJIT extended its lead to 28 points at the end of the first, 71-43, behind a 22-13 advantage in the frame. Saint Francis outscored NJIT 17-9 in the fourth quarter before the Highlanders earned their victory.
