Women's Basketball Falls To Lafayette On The Road

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Natalie Johnson led the way in scoring for the Red Flash with 10 points. The junior added two rebounds and two assists.

>> Marina Artero led the team in assists with six. She added five points and five rebounds.

>> Alary Bell grabbed five rebounds. The sophomore added eight points and an assist.

>> Lafayette's Abby Antognoli led the game in scoring with 19 points on the afternoon.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

The Leopards went on a 15-3 run to start the second half and maintained control of the game from that point onward to open up an 11 point lead with 3:12 left in the third quarter. Lafayette outscored Saint Francis 17-6 in the period.

The Red Flash were able to cut the deficit to eight with 7:12 left, but the two teams traded baskets throughout the remainder of the final quarter and Lafayette closed out their eight-point win.

FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis went on a 6-0 run to take a four point lead at the 5:24 mark of the first period. The run was capped off by a Yanessa Boyd and-one to make the score 8-4.

The Red Flash would have a similar run in the second quarter to tie the game up at 16 with 6:36 left in the second quarter. Artero laid a basket in off a feed from Bell to even the score.

Airah Lavy hit a three with nine seconds left to give Saint Francis a one-point leaded heading into halftime.

Harris Robinson brought the deficit back to single digits with a basket at the 7:08 mark of the third quarter to make it 41-33 Lafayette.

Boyd hit a three with 1:27 left in the game to bring the score to 51-42, giving the Red Flash some life late in the game.

FLASH NUGGETS
Artero's six assists in the game were a career-high.

Bell set career-highs in both points and rebounds with eight and six respectively. Ineivi Plata also set career-highs in those categories with six points and six rebounds.

Bell and Johnson each made four field goals in the game.

The Red Flash head to Maryland for a game against Coppin State on Tuesday Nov. 12. Tip off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
