SELECT GAME NOTES VS. CAMPBELLÂ (FULLÂ GAME NOTES PDF)
FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Saint Francis will make its first trip at Buies Creek when it battles Campbell on Sunday in a return game of a series that started last season.
• The Red Flash defeated the Camels 78-76 in the first meeting in Loretto on December 30, 2023. For the first time since the evolution of the transfer portal, Saint Francis will play a former teammate.
Cam Gregory played his first two seasons in Loretto before transferring to Campbell this season. Gregory was also one of the main reasons the Frankies won the first meeting against Campbell after pouring in 18 points in the win. Gregory's uncle, Anthony Ervin, is also a Saint Francis graduate, playing for the Red Flash for four seasons, including head coach
Rob Krimmel's first season as head coach.
• After opening the season with two up games against Power 5 teams, this will be the first time the Red Flash will see how they stake up against a team closer to what Krimmel calls teams in Saint Francis' peer group. It will be a short stop in this category, with the Red Flash returning to games against the big boys at Penn State on Tuesday. The team also still has Georgetown (November 23) and Maryland (December 17) on the horizon.
• The game features a battle of Keystone State natives. Krimmel grew up in State College, Pa., and is a proud alumni of Saint Francis. Campbell head coach
Kevin McGeehan also grew up in Pennsylvania and played Division III basketball for George Petrie at Gettysburg. He was also a team captain for the Bullets in his senior season of 1994-95.
• McGeehan is 2-4 against teams from Pennsylvania and 0-4 in games played in his home state. Krimmel comes to North Carolina 0-2 against the state with losses at Duke and North Carolina, the only two times Krimmel's crew has come to the Tarheel State.
• Saint Francis is 3-8 against the Coastal Athletic Association (formerly Colonial Athletic Association), including 0-6 on the road. Krimmel is 2-2 against the league, with wins against Campbell and William & Mary and two losses against Delaware. The Red Flash has not won a game on a CAA home floor but does have a 78-72 victory against William & Mary in the DC Holiday Hoop Fest Showcase on December 22, 2019, in the nation's capital.
• Saint Francis is amid a five-game road trip to start the season, tying the program record for most extended road trip to start a campaign. The 1964-65 team also started the year with five away from Loretto.
AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the the squad's first win of the season
• Be the team's first win in North Carolina since defeating East Carolina in 1971
• Be head coach Rob Krimmel's first win in the Tarheel State
• Be the team's second win against Campbell in a series that started last season
• End a 12-game road losing streak and the first win on the road since defeating American 75-73 on December 2, 2023
ABOUT THE FIGHTING CAMELS
• Campbell comes into the contest 1-1 after falling 65-56 at Virginia on Wednesday.
• Colby Duggan paced the Fighting Camels with nine points against the Cavaliers. Duggan ranks second on the team with 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. The sophomore averaged 3.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game as a freshman.
• Bragi Gudmundsson leads the team with 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. The sophomore is in his first season with Campbell after playing seven games at Penn State in 2023-24. Gudmundsson played three minutes and missed two field goals against Saint Francis for Penn State on November 14, 2023.
• Nolan Dorsey is third on the squad with 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Dorsey did not play in 2023-24 but started his career at New Mexico in 2020-21 and then played two seasons at Holy Cross.
• Jasin Sinani is the squad's top returning scorer after averaging 10.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season in Buies Creek.
• Campbell finished 2023-24 with a 14-18 overall record and an 8-10 mark in CAA action.
LAST TIME WE MET
• Carlos Lopez. Jr. scored a career-high 22 points off the bench to help Saint Francis start to ring in the New Year with a 78-76 win against Campbell on December 30, 2023.
• Cam Gregory (18 points), Ace Talbert (12 points), Bobby Rosenberger III (10 points), and Eli Wilborn (10 rebounds) also found double figures for the Red Flash.
• Jasin Sinani paced the Fighting Camels with 20 points, while Anthony Dell'Oso and Broc Bidwell (11 points) also registered double figures in the first meeting between the two teams.
LAST TIME OUT

• After going scoreless in the season opener at Dayton on Monday, sophomore
Ace Talbert paced the Red Flash with 17 points
• Freshman
Jeremy Clayville (11 points) and sophomore
Bobby Rosenberger III (10 points) reached double figures for the second time this season.
TRENDING UP
• Freshman
Jeremy Clayville has registered double figures in his first two collegiate games and leads the team with 12.5 points per game. The freshman is shooting 40.9 percent from the floor (9-for-22) and 53.8 percent from behind the arc (53.8 percent) to start his Saint Francis career. Landon Moore was the last freshman to post double figures in several games to start his Red Flash career with five consecutive to start the season.
• Sophomore
Ace Talbert posted a road career-high of 17 points in the game at Clemson. It was also the third-highest overall total of his career. Despite being held scoreless in the season opener at Dayton, Talbert has posted at least eight points in six of his last seven games away from Loretto and is averaging 9.0 points per game in that stretch.
• Sophomore
Bobby Rosenberger III has posted double figures in points in eight of his last 10 games dating back to last season, including registering precisely 10 points in the first two games this season.
• The sophomore is averaging 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in that stretch, with four games with at least 15 points and seven games with at least six rebounds. He registered a career-high 22 points at home against Stonehill on February 10, 2024, and hauled in his first career 10+ rebound game at Stonehill 14 days later.
• Junior
Valentino Pinedo registered a career-high eight points and five rebounds against Clemson. The transfer played his first two seasons at East Carolina. Before posting those totals on Friday, the junior's top performance was five points at UT Arlington on November 23, 2022, and four boards against Presbyterian on November 12, 2022.Â
ON THIS DATE
• Saint Francis has only played one other time on this date, a 75-68 loss against American in the 2007-08 season opener in Loretto.
• Chris Berry paced the Red Flash with 18 points, Bassirou Dieng added 16 points and current Saint Francis assistant coach Devin Sweetney had 14 points.
FUN FACT:Â This is the second to last time the Frankies have opened a campaign at home. The squad also hosted American two years later, but since 2010-11 have started a new basketball season on the road.
