LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University football linebacker
Geno Calgaro was named to the 2024 FCS Football Central Freshman All-America Team, the publication announced Tuesday.Â

Calgaro led Saint Francis with 70 total tackles, was third with 7.5 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles. He was tied for ninth in the NEC in total tackles.Â

The Canonsburg, Pa. product made an impact in his first collegiate game with a forced fumble against Dayton on Aug. 31. He added two total tackles in that game.Â

Calgaro had standout performances against the likes of Duquesne, Robert Morris, Stonehill and Mercyhurst. Calgaro recorded eight total tackles against the Dukes, seven total tackles against the Colonials, 10.5 total tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss against the Skyhawks, and 10 total tackles with a forced fumble against the Lakers.Â

The Red Flash now have at least one Freshman All-American for the fourth consecutive season.Â

Saint Francis concluded the 2024 season with a 4-7 overall record and 2-4 conference record.Â
