BOX SCORE CHARLESTON, S.C. – Saint Francis University softball concluded the CSU Kickoff Tournament with a 4-3 victory over Siena. The Red Flash finished the weekend with a 4-1 record.

Rachel Marsden (2-1) came in relief and earned the victory. She allowed no runs with one hit and one walk.

Grace Vesco took a no-decision after she allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits, three walks and three strikeouts.

Kaylie Walters went 2-for-4 with one run scored, one RBI and two stolen bases. She produced the eventual game-winning RBI in the seventh.

Ashley Wruble went 2-for-4 with one double and two RBIs.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
» Vesco and Siena pitcher Nicole Patillet allowed a combined four hits and no runs through the first four innings of the game.
» Saint Francis broke through first with an

Lauren Aubry. Wruble followed with a two-out double that drove in two runs and expanded the lead to 3-0 in the fifth.
» Marsden entered the game in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded and one out. Siena responded to the move with three runs scored on a passed ball and two-run double that tied the game.
» In the seventh, Walters singled with two outs that drove home pinch runner
Hannah Bendle and gave Saint Francis a 4-3 lead. Siena had a runner on third in the seventh with two outs but Marsden shut the door to clinch the victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
» Vesco earned the 600th strikeout of her career in the second inning and now stands at 602. She already set the career program record last season.
» Walters finished her first collegiate weekend 6-for-13 (.462) with five runs scored, one RBI and went 5-for-6 on stolen base opportunities.
» Wruble produced her first multi-hit game of the season. She is 4-for-15 (.267) to begin the season.

Saint Francis heads to the Wofford Invitational on Feb. 16-18, where the Red Flash will face Northern Kentucky, Rhode Island and Wofford.
