Carruthers, Dorsey Lead Women's Basketball to Road Win over Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Saint Francis University women's basketball earned its first road victory of the season 76-60 over Wagner on Thursday night.
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
» Kendall Carruthers scored a career-high 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field and 5-of-11 from three-point territory.
» Kameryn Dorsey earned her first-career double-double behind 10 rebounds and 12 assists.
» Harris Robinson scored a career-high 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
» Marina Artero scored a career-high 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
» Taleah Washington led Wagner with 17 points.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Saint Francis and Wagner were tied at four three minutes into the game before an 8-2 Red Flash run opened a 12-6 lead with 2:21 remaining in the frame. Wagner chipped into the deficit and trailed by three, 16-13, after the first quarter. Saint Francis and Wagner stood tied at 21 before an 11-0 Red Flash run opened a 32-21 lead with 1:49 remaining in the half. Saint Francis then took an eight-point, 34-26, lead into halftime.
 
Out of the half, Wagner cut the deficit to 37-34 with 5:40 remaining before a 17-5 Red Flash run opened a 15-point, 54-39 lead at the end of the quarter. Saint Francis started the fourth on 7-3 run and led 61-42 with 7:46 remaining. Wagner responded with a 12-3 run and cut into the deficit 64-54 with 4:05 remaining. Saint Francis then led by at least 10 points for the remainder of the game before earning its 76-60 victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Dorsey recorded her first-career double-double and the second by a Red Flash player this season. Her 12 assists were the most by a Red Flash player since Alexa Hayward dished out 15 on Nov. 18, 2014 vs. Buffalo.
 
Carruthers recorded her second 30-point effort of the season – both coming on the road in New York City against LIU and Wagner. She has four games with at least 20 points and 15 double-digit scoring games.
 
Artero and Robinson both recorded their second double-digit scoring games behind career-high efforts.
