LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball dropped its second-to-last home game of the season 72-57 to Merrimack.  
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
» Kendall Carruthers scored a team-high 17 points and went 3-of-8 from three-point territory.
» Yanessa Boyd scored 11 points and added five rebounds.
» Julianna Gibson and Harris Robinson tied a team-high with seven rebounds.
» Merrimack's Thalia Shepard had a game-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Merrimack began the game on a 13-4 run in the first seven minutes before Saint Francis cut the deficit to 16-10 after the first quarter. The Red Flash opened the second quarter on a modest 8-4 run and cut the deficit to 20-18 with 5:36 remaining in the second. Merrimack responded with a 9-4 run and took a 29-22 lead into halftime.
 
Out of the half, Merrimack opened a 37-26 lead two minutes into the third quarter before Saint Francis put together a 17-8 run and cut the deficit to 45-43 with 1:12 remaining. The Warriors then took a 51-43 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
Saint Francis opened the fourth with five straight points and was within one score, 51-48. Merrimack responded with a 10-5 run and opened back up an eight-point, 61-53 lead with five minutes remaining. The Warriors kept the Red Flash to just four points in the final five minutes before clinching the 15-point victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Carruthers recorded her 13th games with at least 15 points and has five games in a row with at least 15. She is averaging 19.8 points per game in her last five.
 
Boyd had her seventh double-digit scoring game of the season and her first during conference season.
 
Kameryn Dorsey dished out six assists and she has seven games this season with at least five assists.

Saint Francis will host its final home game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 24 for a 4 p.m. tip-off on ESPN+ and Sportsnet Pittsburgh. The Red Flash will honor Kaitlyn Maxwell for Senior Day.
