FLASH WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD NUGGETS
Jacobs took home the first pole vault victory at the NEC Championships in her career with a mark of 3.65m (11' 11.75"). She was named Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps) for her showing.
Marie-Therese Cooper had the second best finish on the women's team, taking second in the triple jump with a jump of 11.75m (38' 6.75").
Tesslyn Helms placed third in the 5000m run with a 17:58.31 time. She also finished sixth in the 3000m run with a time of 10:14.47.
Rhoda Alaban-Tafon took home third in the 400m dash(57.46) and fifth in the 200m dash(25.52).
Mariclare Anderson finished third in the 800m dash with a 2:17.85 time.
Rounding out the podium finishes for the women's team, Carly Sedun took third in weight throw with a throw of 15.45m (50' 8").
FLASH MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD NUGGETS
Hyde won in shot put for the fourth time in his collegiate career at the NEC Championships with a mark of 16.71m (54' 9.75"). In his prior three times in 2020, 2022, and 2023, he posted marks of 17.21m, 17.30m and 16.90m respectively. For his performance this year, the graduate student was named Most Outstanding Field Performer (Throws).
The second event victory for the men's team saw Niang compete in a photo finish with FDU's Duane Kizer. Niang was able to come in first place at the championships for the first time in his career with a time of 8.06.
Bryce Baker placed third in the 60m dash with a time of 6.93.
