LYNCHBURG, Va. – Saint Francis University softball concluded the Liberty Softball Classic with a 6-1 victory over Morgan State. The Red Flash ended the weekend with back-to-back victories.

Grace Vesco (5-2) earned the win after she allowed no runs on two hits with five walks and four strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched.

Rachel Marsden went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a solo home run. She also pitched two innings and allowed one unearned run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Savannah Nash 2-for-3 with one run scored.
» Saint Francis had a season-high six stolen bases in the game.

TURNING POINTS OF GAME ONE
» Morgan State loaded the bases with one out in the first inning before Vesco initiated an inning-ending double play.
» In the second, Saint Francis scored the first run with two outs on a Morgan State error. The Red Flash added another two runs behind RBI singles from Walters and
Ashley Wruble.
Ashley Orischak capped off the scoring on a double steal to open a 4-0 lead.

Madelyn Wilson extended the Red Flash lead to 5-0 with an RBI single in the third inning.
» After a scoreless fourth, Marsden led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run and opened a 6-0 Red Flash lead.
» Marsden entered to pitch in the final two innings and allowed one run in the seventh on a throwing error before Saint Francis earned its victory.

» Marsden hit her second home run of the season and the 25th of her career.
