Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's and Women's Tennis Both Defeat Mount St. Mary's

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis teams both won their matches against Mount St. Mary's on Monday. The men won 4-3 and the women won 6-1. With their wins today, the men have now won four in a row and the women have won back-to-back matches.

Women's: Saint Francis 6, Mount St. Mary's 1.  

Doubles 
The Mountaineers earned the doubles point with wins from the No. 1 and No. 3 matches.  

Diana Zuba and Kelly Dowuona earned a 6-4 win in the No. 2 doubles match and moving to 3-2 as a pair this season. It was Zuba's 12th doubles win of the year and Dowuona's 15th. The latter is a team best and the most individual doubles wins in the NEC. 

Singles 
Saint Francis swept the singles action on the day to earn all six points. 

Zuba won the 20th singles match of her young career with a 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 victory in the No. 1 slot. Zuba has now won back-to-back matches and nine of her last ten contests. 

Reagen Mangan won the No. 2 match by a score of 6-3, 6-2 result to earn her 13th singles win of the season and climbed over .500 from the No. 2 position at 7-6 on the year.  

Dowuona clinched the win for the Red Flash with a 6-4, 6-4 victory from the No. 3 match to earn her 14th singles victory of the year and her fourth consecutive win. 

Sara Jankovic earned a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3) victory from the No. 4 position to win her 10th singles win of the season and her second in a row. 

Kally Kadzinski cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win from the No. 5 slot to claim her seventh singles victory on the year. 

Valeria Vinces also earned a decisive 6-1, 6-1 win from the No. 6 match to win her ninth singles win of the season. 

Men's: Saint Francis 4, Mount St. Mary's 3.  

Doubles 
Mountaineers won the top two doubles matches to earn the doubles point. 

Kevin Kruzel and Alan Gonzalez won the No. 3 singles match in a 6-4 result. The pair have won four in a row together and moves them to 6-2 on the year. The victory was Gonzalez's 10th doubles win of the season and Kruzel's 16th, the latter is tied for the most in the conference. 

Singles 

The Red Flash won the top four singles contests on the afternoon to secure their fourth win in a row. 

Marc Fuste earned his seventh singles win with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-1 win from the No. 1 match. 

Tyler Nguyen earned a 7-5, 6-1 win from the No, 2 slot that improved his singles record to 13-7 on the season and marks back-to-back victories for the freshman. 

Gonzalez won his 18th singles match of the season with his 6-2, 6-0 victory from the No. 3 position. That tally is the most on the team and third best in the NEC. 

Mathis Tremblay's 6-4, 6-4 win from the No. 4 slot improved his singles record to 10-6 on the season and to 6-2 from the No. 4 position. It was the Quebec native's fourth win in a row.
