PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis teams both lost their matches against Duquesne on Sunday. The men lost 7-0 and the women fell 5-2.
Women's: Saint Francis 2, Duquesne 5.
Doubles
The Dukes won the doubles point with victories from the No. 1 and No. 2 matches.
Kelly Dowuona and Kally Kadzinski won the No. 3 doubles match with a 6-3 win. The pair are now 9-3 together on the season and notched their 17th and 13th doubles wins respectively.
Singles
Saint Francis earned wins from the No. 2 and No. 6 singles matches against the Dukes.
Reagen Mangan won the No. 2 match by a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 result to earn her 14th singles win of the season and is now 8-6 from the No. 2 position on the year.
Valeria Vinces also earned a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 win from the No. 6 match to win her 10th singles match of the season.
Men's: Saint Francis 0, Duquesne 7.
Doubles
The Red Flash won the No. 1 doubles match, but dropped the doubles point with losses in the No. 2 and No. 3 match.
Tyler Nguyen and Mathis Tremblay won the No. 1 match with a 7-6 (7-3) result. They are now 11-6 as a pair and have won 18 and 13 doubles matches this season respectively.
Singles
The Dukes swept singles play with wins in all six contests.
Marc Fuste's match in the No. 1 spot went to three sets.
