Men's Tennis Earns Fifth Consecutive Win With 7-0 Victory Vs. Wagner

EASTON, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's tennis defeated Wagner 7-0 on Friday to stay unbeaten in conference play and win their fifth consecutive match.  

The Red Flash are now 10-5 on the year and are enjoying their first win streak of five or matches since 2017 and their first 10 win season since 2017 as well. 

  
Doubles 
The Red Flash won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point from the Seahawks.  

Mathis Tremblay and Tyler Nguyen won their match from the No. 1 doubles slot 6-1. They are now 9-6 as a pair and have won 11 and 16 total doubles matches respectively.  

Alan Gonzalez and Kevin Kruzel claimed a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 position to lock down the doubles point for Saint Francis and improve to 7-2 as a pair. The win was their fifth straight together. Kruzel now has 17 doubles wins on the year. 

Matt Kozar and Zachary Palko won 6-4 from the No. 3 match to sweep doubles play. Kozar. Both players have now won eight doubles matches on the season. 

 
Singles 
The Red Flash won all six singles matches en route to a clean sweep of the Seahawks on the day.  

Marc Fuste won the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-2 to win his second singles win in a row and his eight of the season.  

Nguyen earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 match to improve his record to 14-7 on the year and win his third match in a row.  

Gonzalez saw victory in the No. 3 match to earn his 19th singles victory of the year, second most in the NEC. It was also his fifth win in a row. 

Tremblay won the No. 4 match 6-2, 6-2 to win his fifth match in a row and improve to 11-6 on the season. 

Patrick Reese and Gregory Troyan both won the No. 5 and 6 matches by default to earn their ninth and seventh singles wins respectively.
