Men's and Women's Tennis Both Win vs. North Carolina Wesleyan

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis teams both kicked off their spring break schedules with wins their matches against North Carolina Wesleyan 

Women's: Saint Francis 5, North Carolina Wesleyan 2.  

Doubles 
The Red Flash earned the doubles point with wins from the No. 1 and No. 3 positions respectively. Reagen Mangan and Sara Jankovic won their fourth consecutive match as a pair with a 6-2 win from the No. 1 spot 

Nagisa Miyake and Mallory Thomas won their match from the No. 3 slot by a score of 6-3, marking the pair's second win in as many tries. 

 
Singles 
Saint Francis secured the win with victories from Mangan, Jankovic, Miyake and Thomas from the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 positions respectively. 

Mangan's 6-3, 6-1 win marks her fifth in a row and improves her singles record to 10-6 on the season. 

Miyake's 6-1, 6-1 win marks her fifth win in a row as well, and Mallory Thomas has now won her last three matches. 
 

Men's: Saint Francis 4, North Carolina Wesleyan 3.  
 

Doubles 
The Red Flash dropped all three doubles matches to the Battling Barons. 

 
Singles 
Singles wins from Marc Fuste, Alan Gonzalez, Kevin Kruzel and Matt Kozar saw the Red Flash earn their fourth victory of the season.  

Gonzalez's 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 win in the No. 2 slot saw him win his fourth singles match in a row and improve his singles record to 13-5 on the year.  

The match was a close one, and saw Saint Francis come out on top after Kozar battled back from a set down to win a match tiebreaker in the No. 6 position.  

Five out of the six singles matches were decided in match tiebreakers.

Both Red Flash squads will play Barton College on Mar. 6.
