WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Saint Francis University men's tennis team won their semifinal match at the NEC Championships on Saturday to advance to their first finals appearance since 2017. They defeated FDU in a hard fought 4-2 victory. The women's tennis team had what was a great season come to an end in the semifinals with a down-to-the-wire 4-3 loss to LIU.Â

DoublesÂ
The Red Flash won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to earn a doubles point that turned out to be the difference in the match.Â
SinglesÂ
The Red Flash claimed victories in the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches to punch their ticket into the finals.Â
Alan Gonzalez claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 3 match to draw Saint Francis even at 2-2. The win was Gonzalez's 20th in singles on the year.Â
With the match tied at two, Tyler Nguyen gutted out a 6-2, 0-6, 6-0 win in the No. 2 match to pull the Red Flash in front 3-2.Â
For the second consecutive match, Troyan clinched the match and sent Saint Francis through to the finals with a 7-6 (13-11), 6-4 win in the No. 6 match. The win was Troyan's ninth of the year.Â

Saint Francis will meet the winner of the other semifinal between No. 1 seed Binghamton and No. 5 seed Le Moyne with the NEC Men's Tennis crown on the line on Sunday.Â

The Sharks won the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Â
Sara Jankovic and Reagen Mangan were leading the No. 2 doubles match 5-2 before it went unfinished.Â

Saint Francis earned wins from No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles matches to knot things up at three sets apiece before falling in a No. 6 match that was highly competitive throughout.Â
Diana Zuba won the No. 1 singles match in a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) result. The freshman from Marloboro, N.J. earned her 23rd singles win this season, and will finish her season atop the conference in total singles wins. All 16 of her dual match victories this season came from the No. 1 spot.Â
Mangan won the No. 2 match by a score of 6-3, 7-5 to earn her 16th singles win of the season and her fifth in a row.Â
Jankovic picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win from the No. 3 spot for her 12th singles win of the year and drew the Red Flash even with LIU late in the match.Â
