The Red Flash's last win was a 4-0 decision in 2018.

THE WORD ON BALL STATE
Ball State is coming off a 7-11 season. The squad lost its top-two scorers, but returns Paloma Rengifo, who ranked third on the team with three goals and two assists for eight points. Emma Hilton (one goal, seven assists, nine points) and Rachel Bohn (three goals, one assist, seven points) also return to have Ball State return three of its top seven scorers from 2022. Starting goalkeeper Hannah Johnstown also returns after posting 128 saves, a 3.15 goals against average and a .762 save percentage in 2022.

THE LAST TIME WE MET BALL STATE

Paloma Rengifo, who scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute, assisted Kerrianne McClay's decisive tally in the extra session.  Eva Valentini tied the game with 10 seconds left in regulation. Chloe South made five saves for the Red Flash, while Hannah Johnston had one stop for Ball State.

OPENING STICK VS MIAMI (OHIO)
Sunday's match against Miami (Ohio) marks the seventh meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 2012 season. All seven meetings have occurred on the road.

THE WORD ON MIAMI (OHIO)
Miami (Ohio) is coming off a 15-8 season and returns six of its top seven scorers, including Claudia Garcia Negrete (16 goals, four assists, 36 points), Carlie Servis (nine goals, eight assists, 26 points) and Paula Pena Martinez (six goals, four assists, 16 points) who each finished last season with over 10 points. While the Red Hawks have experience back on the offensive end, they will be looking for a new cage dweller. Sophomore Jessien Guana is the only experience goalkeeper back in 2023, but she only played 18 seconds in her first season.

FOR STARTERS
Saint Francis begins its 24th season in program history on the road at Ball State on Friday.
