Akron did not ease up in the third set. Not backing down, Saint Francis kept the set close at 16-13. An eight-point run gave the Zips match point at a 24-13 score. Ava Holden scored a kill from the middle, but Akron came out on top on the following rally.

McClure was clutch in a four-point run to keep the first set close. Down 19-13, a kill by the junior earned the side out. A block by Hogan and Drew Wallech kept the momentum, with another kill by McClure forcing the Zips to take a timeout. Out of the break, McClure tallied her fourth kill of the match to narrow Akron's lead to 19-17.
