>> T Ciaccia notched her second-weekend tally, while Madison Waldspurger and Emilee Myers also scored in the winning effort.
>> After registering her first career goal on Friday, Cruz Cánepa notched her first career assist, and Dolores Zavaleta also dished out a helper on the day.

TURNING POINTS OF THE MATCH
Ciaccia, who scored the third Saint Francis goal on Friday, got the scoring started on Sunday unassisted at 13:08. Waldspurger increased the lead to two goals on a penalty corner at 17:42 after Consu de Castro inserted the ball for a 2-0 lead after the first half of play.

Myers registered her first collegiate score on a set penalty corner play that started with Canepa to Zavaleta to seal the 3-1 win.

FLASH MOMENTS
Mia DiGenova allowed one goal in 60 minutes on Sunday after playing the first 45 minutes of shutout ball on Friday. She registered one save on two shots on the weekend.

FLASH NUGGETS

Ciaccia, who played in 12 games last season with two shots, is tied on the team with two goals after her two-tally weekend.

Canepa, who got the scoring started on Friday with her first collegiate tally, earned her first collegiate assist on the game's final tally on Sunday.

Waldspurger entered the match with three assists on the year and added her first marker. With her assist, Zavaleta is second on the team with two goals and two assists for six points. Waldspurger has eight goals and 10 assists for 26 points in her career, while Zavaleta has eight tallies and 14 assists for 30 points in her career.

Myers posted her first career point on an assist in the 3-2 double overtime win against Ball State in the season opener and found the back of the cage for the first time on Sunday. The junior played 37 games at La Salle without a point in her first two seasons.

Saint Francis played an opponent twice in one season for the sixth time in program history, notwithstanding the first two years of Northeast Conference play. The last time the Red Flash played an opponent twice in the regular season and the first since 2016 when the squad played Missouri State. Saint Francis also played Albany (2002) and Lock Haven (2010, 2011, 2013) twice in one season. This season and 2016 are the two times the Flash swept the season series.

Saint Francis is 5-11 in its league openers, including 2-5 on the road. Before Sunday's win, the only other road win in the NEC opener was at Sacred Heart in 2011. Also, the victory marks the first time the Red Flash has won three straight NEC openers in program history, but Saint Francis has won four straight conference openers from 2011 to 2014. The wins in 2013 and 2014 were when the Red Flash joined the Atlantic-10. The squad defeated Wagner 3-0 last year and Rider 3-2 in 2022 at home. It was the first away game to start the league slate since 2022.

Sunday's game marks the earliest start of conference play since 2014, when that squad opened league play with its sixth contest. It is the fifth earliest start to league play in program history after the 2003 team had its second game as a league opener, and the 2001 team played its first NEC game in program history with its fourth contest. The 2002 and 2005 teams started the league slate in five games.
