Lewisburg, Pa.- Saint Francis men's and women's tennis continued their fall 2024 campaign at the Bucknell Invitational this past weekend.
The Red Flash squared off against the likes of Bucknell, Lafayette, Mount St. Mary's (Md.) and Millersville in the tournament.
The men picked up a combined 16 singles wins and seven doubles wins, while the women won a combined 19 singles matches and 10 doubles matches.
On the men's side, Alan Gonzalez won both of his singles matches to extend his winning streak to three.
The pairing of Kevin Titus Suresh and Patrick Reese won all three of their matches for a perfect tournament.
Tyler Nguyen and Mathis Tremblay won two of their three doubles matches to improve to 6-1 on the year.
Nguyen, Gonzalez, Tremblay, Suresh, Beau Welker and Noah Potts all won at least two singles matches at the event.
On the women's side, Kelly Dowuona, Dasha Chichkina and Mallory Thomas all went three-for-three in their singles matches over the weekend. Chichkina remains a perfect 8-0 in singles competition this season.
Dowuona, Chichkina, Thomas, Morgan Tuffs, Kally Kadzinski, Sara Jankovic and Sophia Cunningham made up the sizable group of Red Flash players who won multiple singles matches in the tournament.
Chichkina, Dowuona, Thomas and Tuffs are all on winning streaks of three or more matches. Jankovic picked up her first two wins of the fall as well.
Three Red Flash pairings went unbeaten over the weekend in women's doubles action. The pairings of Chichkina and Diana Zuba, Jankovic and Reagen Mangan, and Lindsey Greb and Gretta Rhodes all were perfect at the event.
The tandem of Dowuona and Kadzinski continued their strong start to the fall season with wins in two of their three matches, climbing to 8-2 on the year.
At the conclusion of the weekend, the men's team hold winning percentages of .593 in singles and .621 in doubles. The women's team sits at a .588 winning percentage in singles and .535 in doubles.
Saint Francis men's women's tennis returns to action at the NEC Individuals next weekend from Sept. 20 to Sept. 22.
