TURNING POINT
After the Quakers took home the third set, set four remained intense. A kill by Hogan leveled the score at 21 apiece.
Korrin Burns sent the ball deep into the Penn side, taking back the lead and drawing a Quaker timeout. From the attack line, Hogan tallied her final kill of the match, with Penn taking their final timeout. An error by the Quakers brought match point for the Red Flash. Penn tried to halt Saint Francis with a kill of their own, but Burns sent the ball off the finger of a Quaker block to lock up the win.
FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash were electric at the start of the match. After taking a 3-1 lead, the team went on a five-point to take a sizable 8-1 lead. Burns began the run with a hard ball into the hands of the Penn blockers.
Alyssa Irwin brought down a solo block to widen the lead. After an ace by Hogan, Burns slammed the ball over the Quakers' defense. An error by Penn helped improve the score to 8-1 before the Quakers called a timeout.
Set two came down to the wire before the Red Flash pulled out ahead. With Penn at a 26-25 set point, Burns hit the ball over the Penn blockers to even the score. An error by the visitors gave the Red Flash set point, but an error evened the score once again, now at 27-27. Burns tallied a block to earn set point for Saint Francis, with
Kori McClure tipping the ball to win the set.
FLASH NUGGETS
Burns was right behind Hogan in kills, tallying 21.
Alexandra Sappia led the team in assists with 27.
Drew Wallech continues to succeed at the service line, earning three aces.
Irwin led Saint Francis in blocks with one solo and two assisted blocks.
Hogan also recorded a team-most 17 digs on the night.
