TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

Mendes put a shot in the back of the net in the 77th minute to seal the win for Saint Francis.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Neither team could get much going in the opening 10 minutes of the match.

Alex De Nittis fired a shot from outside the 18-yard box in the 14th minute that was denied by the keeper.

Mendes had a chance to score just three minutes later but his shot was also saved.

Torren Aikens went for goal with a header off of the ensuing corner kick but pushed it wide.

After Wagner's opener, Risenhoover made a diving save to maintain the lead in the 26th minute.

Schelb tried to double the lead in the 30th minute but sailed his shot over the crossbar.

The sophomore would get another chance ten minutes later, this time capitalizing and making it a 2-0 advantage heading into the break.

Coming out of the break, Risenhoover kept the lead at two with a save in the 50th minute.

Just four minutes later, the Bison seemed to have a breakaway chance that was halted by an excellent sliding clearance by Risenhoover.

Neither side could muster up much in the middle portion of the period. There were very few scoring opportunities for both teams.

In the 77th minute Mendes received a great cross from Brennan to make it 3-0.

The Red Flash saw out the final 13 minutes to get their second win of 2024.

FLASH NUGGETS

Schelb has now set a career high in goals with four on the year, surpassing his 2023 total of three. He is just three points shy of matching his points tally of 13 last season.

With Walenchok and Brennan getting their first career points in the match, it marks the first time since Aug. 24, 2023 against Canisius that two Saint Francis players have accomplished the feat.

Risenhoover recorded the first clean sheet of his career in the match. The match also marks the third consecutive outing in which Risenhoover has made exactly three saves in a game.
