Men’s Volleyball Drops First Match In Chicago To No. 8 Loyola Chicago

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis men's volleyball fell to #8 Loyola Chicago in their first of two matches in Chicago on Friday night (13-25, 14-25, 15-25).

>> Andrew Deardorff led the Red Flash with a season-best seven kills, three digs, and one assist.

TURNING POINT OF THE MATCH
The Ramblers took the first two sets to go up 2-0. They'd continued their momentum by going into the third set media timeout with a 15-10 lead and they wouldn't look back after play resumed. Loyola Chicago ended up winning the set and match by a set three final score of 25-15.

The Red Flash made a valiant effort throughout set three to avoid the sweep. They had their best offensive output of the three sets with 11 kills and a team hitting percentage of .333. Brady Stump posted four of his five kills during the offensive display.

FLASH MOMENTS
The opening set saw the Ramblers get out to a 10-3 lead and extended to it 21-8. The Red Flash went on a 4-1 run to cut the deficit to 22-13, but they could not make the comeback as Loyola Chicago took the first set by a final score of 25-13.

Set two started out with a close 3-2 affair in favor of the Ramblers. They proceeded to go on a 10-0 run and used that momentum to lead them to a 25-14 set two win.

FLASH NUGGETS
Kyle Charles tallied his first career block in the first set, The freshman setter also registered 19 assists, two kills, and two digs.

Michael Mosbacher led the squad in digs with five. The senior opposite also added five kills.

The Red Flash implemented a two libero starting lineup with Cole Dorn and Richard Kaminski for tonight's match. The duo combined for five digs, with three coming from Dorn and another two being registered by Kaminski.

Jackson Decker got into his first collegiate match during the second set.
