Sappia also set up a dime for Kori McClure to lay down. Towards the end of the set, the Red Flash went on another run, 6-2 this time. Saint Francis capitalized on Stonehill's errors and utilized several players with kills, including Alyssa Irwin, Paloma Gonzalez Jaramillo, and Burns. FLASH MOMENTSÂ
The Red Flash picked up right where it left off, going on an easy 7-2 run in the beginning. Irwin started off the second set with a kill down the middle that was followed by a duo block from Sappia and McClure. McClure also registered two kills to aid in the win and Burns collected an ace during the run. Saint Francis finished off the set with a 4-1 run to claim another set. Sappia set up two beautiful assists for Gwen Atkins and Gonzalez Jaramillo to hammer down. The set was topped off by another service ace, although this time it was by Chandler Alter.Â
Saint Francis kept bringing the heat in the third set as the Red Flash widened the gap thanks to a 7-1 run that was started by a Sappia service ace. Stonehill's defense could not keep up with the kills that came left and right from McClure and Atkins. After a Nevaeh Ingram ace, Atkins and Irwin gave back-to-back kills to take the game without hesitation.Â
