Aleah James, a member of the Saint Francis women's basketball team, has been named an NEC Prime Performer for the first week of the season.

James averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in her first two games in a Red Flash uniform. The UMES transfer posted a career-high 17 points against Duquesne on Monday and then added 14 points and a career-high eight assists along with four rebounds against La Salle on Saturday. Both scoring totals were her Top-2 scoring performances after scoring a career-high 11 points with the Hawks last season. James had five points in part of a 14-1 run in the fourth quarter against the Dukes. The graduate student also had five points during a 26-15 run late in the game against the Explorers to make it a three-point game. She shot 39.3 percent from the floor (11-for-28), 62.5 percent from behind the arc (5-for-8) and 80.0 percent from the free throw line (4-for-5) in the two games. 

Saint Francis returns to action on Thursday against Robert Morris in its 2025-26 DeGol Arena debut. Game time is 7 p.m.
