Saint Francis Volleyball Sweeps Le Moyne 3-0 On Senior Night

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Six Red Flash were recognized for their accomplishments as seniors. 
>> The Red Flash racked up 13 service aces. 
>> Saint Francis swept Le Moyne this weekend, including Saturday's 3-0 win (25-15, 25-6, 25-17).


TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
During the second set, the Red Flash had a dominant 15-0 run. Kori McClure found the spark with the huge kill down the middle. With several errors for the Dolphins, Alexandra Sappia had three service aces in a row. Alexa Chapla set up Korrin Burns for a kill to keep the streak going. Sappia collected another ace right off the hands of a Le Moyne defender. Gwen Atkins and McClure fed more fuel to the fire with a duo block to put Saint Francis up 11-1. Burns registered another kill in that run, while the Dolphins threw in three more errors. Sappia recorded her fifth ace of the set and then turned around and set up Burns for a kill. With this huge set, Saint Francis did not hesitate to keep its foot on the pedal as they won 3-0.

FLASH MOMENTS 
The Red Flash went on a quick 4-0 run to boost their lead. Gonzalez Jaramillo started the run with a kill from Sappia. Burns followed with a kill of her own and McClure recorded an ace. Saint Francis had a 5-0 run shortly after started once again by a Gonzalez Jaramillo kill. Burns had yet another kill to force Le Moyne to call a timeout. That did not stop Chandler Alter from collecting an ace. Saint Francis went on to take the first set. 

WIth Saint Francis up 18-17 in the third set, the Red Flash fueled a 7-0 run to secure the win. Sappia set up three beautiful assists for an Irwin kill and two Gonzalez Jaramillo kills. After Le Moyne had a bad set, Irwin was right back at it swinging. Sappia once against set up the pass for Irwin to convert on to give Saint Francis a five-point advantage. Gonzalez Jaramillo was not done having fun, so she hit the Dolphins with a line drive kill to put the Red Flash at game point. Atkins registered the 13th ace of the night to claim to win.  

FLASH NUGGETS
Burns, the seven-time NEC Player of the Week and NEC Prime Performer, recorded 16 kills, five digs, and two aces. She went 16 for 20 equaling a .750 hitting percentage. Burns added these kills to her season total, bringing the new program record to 528 kills and counting.  

McClure, the NEC Player of the week and two-time Prime Performer, registered six kills, three digs, two assisted blocks, and two aces. She hit 6 for 8 collecting a .750 hitting percentage.  

Atkins, the four-time NEC Rookie of the Week, had seven kills and an ace on the night.  

Sappia finished the match with 39 assists, eight digs, six aces, and an assisted block. Sappia has earned NEC Prime Performer distinction each week of the 2025 season. With these 39 assists, Sappia is now in fourth place in program history with 1,082. 

Gonzalez Jaramillo collected seven kills.  

Alter had seven digs.
