TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The Red Flash battled defensively for the full 93 minutes of the match. The Red Flash pushed offensively but not enough to get a shot on goal. FDU dominated on the offensive side taking 12 shots and seven on goal. Garciarena and the entire Red Flash defense made an impact for the full 90 standard regulation minutes without a single ball hitting the back of the net.
With a red card late in the second half, the Red Flash were put at a disadvantage with just 10 men on the pitch. With just over three minutes into overtime, the Knights capitalized on this opportunity and put one between the posts, ending the overtime period 1-0 per the golden goal.

Alex De Nittis, Andre Isreal, and Jonah Wolf received NEC All-Tournament honors.
Garciarena recorded six saves during the match. The junior finished his season with 64 saves with a career high of 13 saves during the regular season FDU matchup .Â
The Red Flash made its ninth appearance in the championship match of the NEC tournament dating back to the first time in 2006 and most recently 2016. Saint Francis and FDU matched up for the first time in the NEC championship match since 2012.Â
