Saint Francis sotball head coach Bill Vasko has announced the additions of Abby Doerr and Ryan Bushey to his coaching staff for the 2025 season.

Doerr competed at the highest levels, representing both the University of Alabama and Oregon State University with dedication and determination.

Known for her steady offensive production and leadership qualities, Doerr played a role in helping Alabama reach the 2021 Women's College World Series. At Oregon State, she demonstrated her versatility by contributing at multiple positions and earned praise for her strong work ethic and team-first mindset.

Over three seasons, Doerr made 79 appearances, including 65 starts, for the Crimson Tide. In 2021, she played a role in Alabama's run to the Women's College World Series (WCWS), appearing in the postseason and hitting a pinch-hit, two-run home run during the WCWS against Arizona. In her final season in Tuscaloosa (2022), Doerr started 35 games.

In her junior season, Doerr led the Beavers in home runs (11) and RBI (30). She appeared and started 42 games, playing multiple positions, including catcher, third base, first base, and designated player. In her senior season, Doerr appeared in 49 of 50 games (48 starts). Defensively, she demonstrated exceptional consistency: committing only two errors in 255 chances. She earned recognition off the field, earning a spot on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. Beyond her individual performance, Doerr also became part of a unique chapter in Oregon State history, playing alongside her younger sister Paige for the 2023–24 campaigns — one of only a few sister duos in Division I softball to record a hit in the same game in 2024.

Doerr is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Along with coach Doerr, Bushey joins the staff as a graduate assistant to the staff.

Bushey was a four-year infielder on the Mount Aloysius College baseball team, where he played in the heart of the infield for a Mounties program that consistently competed at the top of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). As a freshman in 2022, he contributed to a Mount Aloysius team that won the AMCC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional after going 27–15 overall and battling through the conference tournament to clinch the league title.

Across his career, Bushey established himself as a competitive hitter and reliable defender. In AMCC conference play, he hit .365 with 19 hits, nine RBIs, and a .421 on-base percentage in league action. He also logged over 150 defensive chances in the infield with a steady fielding percentage.

By the end of his upperclassman seasons, Bushey had earned All-AMCC recognition, helping lead a team that produced multiple all-conference selections for Mount Aloysius.

In addition to his college career, Bushey spent his summers playing in Johnstown's long-running All American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) environment, a respected wood-bat collegiate summer league. At Saint Francis, Bushey primarily works on infield play, base running, and hitting. Bushey is a native of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Derry Area High School.
