With a one-run lead in the top of the seventh in the first game, a double by
Savannah Nash allowed
Addie Smith to score, making it a 3-1 score. In the bottom of the inning, George Mason hit three fly-outs to end the game.
George Mason tallied a run in the bottom of the fifth in the second game to make the score 4-3, but the Red Flash were able to hold off the Patriots to pick up the second win of the day.
FLASH MOMENTS
Down one at the top of the fifth and with Smith and
Zoey Nussbaum on first and second, a triple to center field by
AB Cipalla gave the Red Flash a 2-1 lead in the first game against the Patriots.
Smith started scoring in the second inning of the second game with a home run to left field. Nash then hit a single to right field, allowing
Aliya Garroway to score.
In the top of the fourth, Nash hit a triple with an error, giving Nussbaum the opportunity to score.
FLASH NUGGETS
Cipalla and Nash led Saint Francis with two RBIs apiece.
Smith went 3-for-3 in game one with Nash going 3-for-4 in the second.
Olivia Ulam had a combined 24 putouts on the day.
Allie Braly and Olivia Kolowitz both pitched complete games. Kolowitz allowed just one run in the first game, striking out two and walking three. In game two, Braly allowed three runs (all earned) with two strikeouts and one walk.
