Women's Tennis Bests Niagara, Men's Tennis Defeated By Dayton

Ebensburg, Pa. – Both Saint Francis University Tennis teams had matches on Sunday. The women earned their first home win of the year via a 6-1 victory of Niagara, while the men dropped their match to Dayton 4-0.

Women's Results: Saint Francis 6, Niagara 1.  

Doubles 
The Red Flash won the no. 1 and 3 doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Sara Jankovic and Kally Kadzinski were ahead 4-3 in the no. 2 match before it was abandoned.

Diana Zuba and Dasha Chichkina won the no. 1 doubles match 6-2, while Kelly Dowuona and Morgan Tuffs cruised to a 6-1 win in the no. 3 match.

Singles 
Saint Francis won five of the six singles contests, claiming victory in the no. 1-5 slots.

Zuba won the no. 1 match in straigh sets with a 6-4, 6-4 result. Chichkina won the first set 6-2 before winning by default. Dowuona also earned a straight sets victory to clinch the match for Saint Francis with a 6-3, 6-3 result. 

Jankovic won the no. 4 singles match in a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) battle. Kadzinski won the no. 5 singles match 8-3, and Tuffs saw defeat in the no. 6 slot 4-8.

Men's Results: Saint Francis 0, Dayton 4.  

Doubles 
The Flyers won the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to earn the doubles point.

Kevin Titus Suresh and Matt Kozar won the no. 3 doubles match 6-2.

Singles 
Dayton won the no. 1, 5 and 6 singles matches to clinch the contest. Tyler Nguyen, Kevin Kruzel and Kozar were the three Red Flash players in those respective matches.

Alan Gonzalez and Titus Suresh led the no. 2 and 3 singles matches respectively before they were abandoned, while Gregory Troyan was tied 2-2 in the third set of the no. 4 match before it was abandoned.

Flash Facts 
Zuba notched the 50th overall win of her career with her doubles victory alongside Chichkina. The Marlboro, N.J. native would make it 51 with a singles win.

With her singles win today, Kally Kadzinski is now one win away from 50 overall career wins. The Parkland, Fla. native is nearing the 30 career doubles wins, sitting at 29 currently.

Zuba and Dowuona have each won four singles matches in a row.

Titus Suresh is three wins away from hitting 20 overall wins in his career, sitting at 17 after his doubles win today with Kozar.

Men's Tennis heads to State College, Pa. for a matchup with Penn State on Feb. 15, while the women are back in action on Feb. 23 against Lafayette in Altoona.
