The Colonials hit two two-run home runs to take a 10-6 lead in the bottom of the fifth in the first game, tacking on another run reaching first on an error. In the top of the seventh,
Hannah Bendle singled through the left side.
Savannah Nash then hit a double to right field, giving Bendle the scoring opportunity for an 11-7 score.
Saint Francis had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh. A home run by Robert Morris tied the game. With a runner on second, Robert Morris singled, scoring the final run of the game.
FLASH MOMENTS
In the first at-bat of game one, Nash hit a home run to put Saint Francis on the board. Later in the first inning,
Olivia Ulam scored on a wild pitch. With
Aliya Garroway on first,
Sofia Zielinski sailed the ball out of the park in right field, taking a 4-0 lead.
Morgan Pasternak was walked to open the fifth inning. Bendle then hit a double to left center, advancing Pasternak to third. The Red Flash took advantage of a wild pitch with Pasternak scoring. AB Cipalla then hit a sacrifice fly, tying the game at six apiece.
With Nash on third in the first inning of the second game, Ulam reached on an error by the Colonials' center fielder, giving Nash the scoring opportunity.
After singles by Sofia Zielinski and Madelynn Bates, Nash hit a double to right center, scoring two RBIs for a 3-1 lead in the second.
In the third inning, Addie Smith took advantage of a passed ball to put the Red Flash up 4-1.
FLASH NUGGETS
Nash went 5-for-8 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs.
Ulam had 11 putouts with Smith right behind with 10 as catcher.
Addison Deal pitched for four innings in the first game, facing two batters in the fifth. She allowed eight runs (all earned) with four strikeouts and one walk. This is a new career high in strikeouts for the freshman.
Kolowitz pitched the remainder of game one, allowing three runs (two earned) with one strikeout and one walk.
Madelynn Bates got the start for the second game, pitching for five innings, allowing three runs (all earned) with three strikeouts and two walks. Kolowitz pitched for one inning, striking out one batter. Allie Braly pitched for .1 innings, allowing two earned runs and walking one.
