Softball Takes Both Games of Le Moyne Doubleheader

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
With Savannah Nash and AB Cipalla in scoring position, singles by Olivia Ulam and Sofia Zielinski gave Saint Francis a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Le Moyne hit a home run to open the seventh inning, but the Red Flash defense held the Dolphins off for the win.

Down 14-10 in the bottom of the seventh in the second game, Ulam singled down the left field line, allowing Nash to score. With bases still loaded, Zielinski hit a walk-off grand slam to put away the win.


FLASH MOMENTS
In the bottom of the first, Zielinski singled with runners on first and third to score the first run of the day.

Saint Francis was trailing 6-2 in the third inning of the second game, but a solo home run by Ulam narrowed the gap. With Zielinski on third and Aliya Garroway on second, Annabelle Farmer hit a three-run home run to tie the game. This was Farmer's first career home run.

Starting the bottom of the fourth inning, Nash hit a home run to right field to take a 7-6 lead. Zielinski grounded out but allowed Cipalla to score. Garroway then grounded out to the Dolphins' shortstop, tallying an RBI with Addie Smith scoring.


FLASH NUGGETS
Farmer and Ulam both went 4-for-7 with one home run. Farmer recorded four RBIs with Ulam tallying three.

Ulam led the team in putouts with 22.

All four pitchers entered the circle. Allie Braly pitched a complete first game of the day, allowing two runs (one earned) with two strikeouts and walks.

Olivia Kolowitz pitched 2.2 innings, allowing six runs (two earned) with one strikeout and two walks. Addison Deal pitched for 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs (four earned). Madelynn Bates earned the win in the second game, facing three batters in the top of the seventh and striking out one batter.
